Corona v5 Build & Issues

First I just want to say sorry if it's against the rules for a father/son to use the same account on TX forums, If it is just let me know and I will create my own account.

Also my dad is out of town for a week and I'm trying to learn how to rgh on one of our spare consoles, I'm only 14 but my dad has taught me how to solder & how to use a multi-meter when I had a school project to do, I will try to proide all the information you need to try to help with my issue.

TX Products Used: J-R Programmer v2 & Corona v3 QSB
Console Type: CORONA V5
NAND size: 16MB
Dashboard Version: 2.0.16203
CB version: Not Sure Yet
Screenshot of NAND details from J-Runner: Haven't Read The Nand Yet

I think my soldering is fine, but open to suggestions.

Was the console working before you started: Yes & It Still Boots Retail Dash

I haven't installed anything to the motherboard but the v3 QSB because dad tod me to read the nand before I installed anything else, do you want to see the jr prog v2 connected to the v3 qsb?

If you will tell me what you need pic of I'd be glad to take them, all of our stuff is ordered from Xconsoles so no clones here.

Update: After tinkering with it a little more here is new jrunner log

UPDATE: JRUNNER can read the nand on our other consoles fine so it's not the jr prog v2 or the nand cable..

I just wanted to make sure you had connected the J-R P v2 correctly to the QSB and have tested continuity between each NAND point (from my guide) back to the programmer.

I'll get u you a pic here in a few..

I tested continuity with the cable plugged in from the socket legs on jr prog to the bottom of the motherboard to see if i had continuity thru the cable and v3 qsb and all was good. I have since removed the v3 qdb to try a direct wire install..

The only points which throw any suspicion for me were 1 and 3, as these should be around 1v. 2v4 is quite high.
I wasn't going to give up on this console so I removed the v3 QSB and did a direct wire install and now it sees the console as a Corona & reads the nand perfect. I'll try a diff v3 QSB and see if it works.

Thanks Martin for all suggestions & helping me with my issue on mt first rgh/jtag ever. Just wanted to surprise dad when he gets home :)

does 61k ohm sound right for the resistance from gnd to post_01 on postfix adapter v2 on a corona v5? trying to get it right before I put the heatsink back on.

thanks for any help offered..

Yeah, 61k is about right. Bad values would be like 0 or no reading.
Thank you for the reply, I edited the thread title so I can keep everything regarding this console in one thread instead of creating multiple thread and spamming the forum..

YES SIR!!

I have slim proto 2 & demon installed already and booting on both nands. All i have to do now is fine tune the boot time and install a phat sonus.

here is a couple pics of the demon & i'll post more later. if you have any suggestions on soldering please post because it will help me out in the future. Dad taught me by making me solder on a dead 360 motherboard and after i got the hang of it he let me install some xecuter mod chip in an original xbox.

i'll get all pics taken today, i couldn't find original slim proto v2 wires so I made due with 2 colors of 22awg solid copper wire.

Didn't think but the pics are going to ruin the surprise if dad checks the forum while hes gone, lol.

here is a couple more pics for you guys to look at and leave suggestions. Keep in mind this is my first rgh/jtag that I've ever done.. Thanks again to Martin for his help along the way & Dad for teaching me how to solder, feels so much better actually doing it myself instead of using a console that my dad did.

In the pic above I couldn't find the proto v2 wires so i just used the 22awg wire that was laying around.

Will post more pics of led mods later today after I finish & the proto v2 settings used for the best boot speed.

If you check the forum Surprise Dad!!! :) Got my first one done, lol..
