I have followed the instructions in the text manual and am getting an E66 code.

My concern is after reading through the forums i have to copy the key. The text manual assumes that happens automatically, But it doesn't for me.

My process is as follows:

Samread 1234567 12345, turn off xbox etc.... (No probs)

then

Samhack 1234567 12345,turn off xbox etc.... writes ok

Error 66 on 360

Now, I assume that inbetween these 2 I have to use samtool to copy the key?

If so, have the files got to be in the same directory as samhack samread directory? which files need to be where before I flash?

Obviously I still have the origianal bin file. Have I got to put original back to the 360 b4 i try again.

I am using xtreme33 as in the video, I assume this will work fine, I never use my 360 online.

Your help will be GREATLY appreciated!

E66 is usually the wrong drive version, do you have ms25 or ms28? The hacked firmware must report to to the 360 as whatever drive it's expecting, I'd say chances are your key is fine but it's reporting as the wrong version. It's an easy fix but why are you using ancient firmware and XBM version? I'd recommend you use XBM 0.5.3 and Xtreme 5.2 if you don't want iXtreme.

As long as you have orig.bin you're fine, just post what kind of drive you have and we'll go from there.

kentaro if you lost your orig.bin then you need to read the current hacked firmware off the drive to get it. Follow Textbook's tutorial and do just the xRead step if you're using XBM 0.5.3 or just the iDump step if you're using iPrep. This will dump your current hacked firmware, then you can boot back into Windows and extract the key.

Hi,

I have the MS28.

I re-flashed with the original firmware and used the files you recommened and it worked fine. No E66!

Only problem now is, it plays my originals just fine, but does't read my back up! But I have only burnt one so i guess i'll have to try again!

I'll assume here that the flash went ok?

Thanks for the help.

Trigger_Ace...if it's playing originals then that means the flash went fine. I'd say it's your backup, make sure you either use the .dvd file to burn (not the .iso) or set the layerbreak manually in your burning program. It could also be the blank media that you used if it's a cheaper brand.

New problem..!!

I set the layer break maually. Disc is ok.

360 reads the disc now.

Tells me I need an update to run the game. I know this is ok to do after reading other posts.

Problem is it asks me for an update disc. Doesn't go to the dash board. Can't get to the dashboard.

Everytime I reboot It just asks for the update disc.

I downloaded the update and burnt it to a cd.

360 trys to read it but it just keeps saying can't update your console!

Any ideas?

I'll get there eventually I hope!

Try to plug into the internet and let it download the update, or get a newer game that has the update included on the disc and run it from the REAL DISC, not a burned backup copy. (Some people have had trouble running updates from burned backup copies.)

Ok, I have the original (forza 2) and the same thing happens!

Should I reflash with the orignal firmware?
