Looks like bad soldering to me. There are few points that don't look like they are making any contact with relative points on the motherboard.

Did you try and test with multimeter?

Get a cheap digital multimeter with audible continuity beeper.

I would have thought so! Last one I got my self was a cheap Chinese make that I got of ebay for about £7 delivered. Other than the cheap probes that fell of the wires, it has been working brilliantly.

As you seem to be limiting your self to radioshack, try going for this.

thanks. do you happen to know where I could find a tutorial on how to test connections with multimeter?
Try using the search-button. I know there is a tut on here from a few months back..
Using (probably) the same as mwn, cheap will do the job In this case, although they tend to break quite easily :p.

I know its obvious, but check that the nandx drivers are installed and you can see it in device manager
