Hi all I have searched and read hundreds of posts on this matter & alot of people say bad soldering. Here is what I am using & tried. I have done my own xbox jtag before about 6months ago & now im trying to do a friends.

Basically I have soldered the wires directly to the board top & bottom. I have checked with a continuity test that they make contact top & bottom (bleep & 001 ohm)

Surely that means my soldering is fine ? Its not the neatest of installs but it was no problem previously. I am using nand-x and on a win 7 netbook. Drivers installed and im using jtag tool.

Any help appreciated cheers

Thanks for your reply I hear what your saying although I just don't get if the continuity test is ok surely it should be able to read the NAND ok?

Is there any alternative points to solder to? Its a xenon board

You can't solder to these massive points and now you want alt. points to wreck instead?

Two choices:

1. Get someone to do it for you and potentially repair any traces you've broken.

2. Forget about trying to JTAG it.

I hate to be blunt but 99.9% of ALL JTAG issues are soldering related. I've repaired more consoles than I care to think about, all of which were created by shoddy soldering. It's not hard to learn to solder and if people just stopped for a moment instead of jumping in with both feet on their beloved console, there would be far less posts than this.
