Hello everyone. I'm a total NooB, but am loving every minute of learning what this Xbox can do !!!! The sky's the limit so far !!! Time to go beyond.
Anyways. Once I originally installed my X3 chip (that I just bought 2 weeks ago), everything went great. I was able to play a backed up Forza Motorsport right from the disk, so I was pretty happy about that. I was pretty sure it was the X3 2914 Bios that I originally installed with the Evolution X dashboard. So, as I was playing around and learning how to use Slayer's Install Disk, I was trying different dashboards / applications / etc when things kind of went silly. the "FRAG" thing was happening and whatever, so, I just started over again. Formatted the drives, installed the Bios again (actually tried others along with different dashboards). But now, I've installed the same Bios (2914) with several DB's, but can't get Forza to play for the life of me. Plus, when I boot up, I get the Xbox screen with the "Rox My Box" logo. Then it jumps directly to the screen where the X3 logo is spinning in the background and the first thing on the menu is X3 Config Live. Is it supposed to do this ??? I think it's the default X3 screen, rather than booting straight to the Dashboard. But, I think originally it went straight to the dashboard. Most Bios' give me a flashing error where it doesn't recognize the Bios on the disk (all I've done is use flashboot to install them so far). But, after the xbox crashes from trying to play Forza, or just flashing and rebooting, etc.....once I get it back to the X3 default screen (with X3 Config Live on top of menu), for a split second, a text box containing "Fixed Datasets" pops up in the middle of the screen and everything is back to normal. Do I need a working MS dashboard for things to work properly with the chip ??? I think that might be my problem if I do need it. I bought the Xbox used and it was soft-modded before I got it, so, not sure exactly what's going on there.
ANy hekp with my Forza problem and my not booting to dashboard problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
