Has anyone noticed there CPU Temp in FSD, mine say 80.6C and it’s going in the red just a bit, is this normal? I have my fan set to auto maybe I should increase the speed manually, also this temp is the xbox just setting there not doing anything. also my system is a smlim 250gb Trinity.

I keep my fans at 100% on my slim and it stays around 115F, I thought that was rather high because I always had phats before and mine were always around 40C.

set your fan around 60 -70 % and check if different any higher fan would make it to loud

wow that's VERY high. Read at msoft forum that normal is 40-55C. Mine is 38-43C. Maybe set your fan to 100%, better the noise than red dot. Or better yet change your thermal paste with arctic silver5 or the like.

That is really high. You may want to replace the thermal paste and ensure the heatsink is making good contact with the chip.

does the TX xclamp work for the slim also

Easiest is to thread the studs then put a lock washer on them. Same concept and you ensure that the spacing on top is correct. - I do that for any console that comes in for repair with original studs still on.

i believe the "auto" setting is the main reason for rrod. i have mine (falcon rgh) set at 65% and the gpu only gets up to about 115 degrees f.

do you use a plastic washer on the motherboard side?
Thanks

Just get a cheap computer fan solder to a 5v source and gnd and mount it on top of the fan opening or cut a hole. Easiest way to cool it down, if your still concerned that is.

The easiest way to control the temps is to set the max allowed temp for CPU, GPU and EDRAM in NAND. This can be done easily with 360 Multibuilder by editing option.ini before building freeboot image. I always set them to 65 Celsius, once the target temp is hit, the fans will start spinning faster, if the temp decreases, fans will slow down too.
