Hey guys, I cant seem to work out why the ring of light pad on the cr3 doesnt illuminate the rf board led. Are there any jumpers that need soldering, or is it just the 1 wire from the cr3 pad to led?

Thanks in advance

I have straightened the wire on the led (pic not attached) but still nowt, I tried with various leds on the board

You may have it on the wrong part of the led. There is a pic.around here somewhere that has the polarity of the leds so that you can work on it.

Seems right to me, unless they changed it from the diy to the coolrunner 3

In the thread with the CR3 settings by Ubergeek, he references the diy thread, which the only thing i neede was the solder point of the LED. He also stated that a diode is no longer required as its built in to the board. So just a single wire from the rol pad to the led should work, yes? There has got be something i missed, not sure what tho. Anyway im off to bed.

Check the sticker on the RF board for the version number. If it's a 1410 then it will not work. As far as I know there hasn't been a workaround found for the 1410 RF boards yet. I had this problem with one of my last ones that I was doing with a Rev B. I was trying to wire up the debug LED and nothing would work then I realised it was a 1410 RF board. Had a spare 1409 board laying around, switched it for the 1410 and voila everything worked perfectly.

Try using one of the TP points on the rear of the RF module. Not sure if it will help though, for the above reason. I have used TP8 for Player 4 LED on phats, but not really done the LED mod on many slims as of yet.

It works like a charm :)

You do know you don't need the wire to the ground ? You could just scratch back a bit of the green pcb masking and solder the neg side of the led to the pcb

I know :) But i would rather add a wire then scratch the pcb it seems less harmfull. Now the RF board is unharmed and i can still see the Debug LED when i close the console. (The tape isnt covering the LED like it was on the picture)
