So first off i just want to throw some info out there. yes i recently posted a Trace repair i did on a CR4 that was brought to me for repair.
From what i could see before i touched it was that the trace between the D pad and the trace that comes from the Chip itself had ben pulled up.

here it is.............updated trace repair.JPG

So the console works perfect once its booted up and its not horrible on boot times but i feel it should be better as a installer( plus its a CR4 and have seen many times now that it is solid )

I cant seem to get the boot times consistent. I have seen a lot of instant boots and then i will get 2-5 cycles.
I have tried all post bit settings No change really besides maybe longer boot times.
When i try to add a Cap all they do is cause it to not boot at all.

So after all this rambling i have 3 questions...........

1. is there Another trace around that area that could have ben pulled or there just that one? the reason i ask this is because adding a cap causes it to not boot.

2. are there any other Dip settings i could try besides just 3-8 on?

3. or is instant to 5 cycles good enough on this setup? CR4/Corona V4

1. U can just add caps by soldering one end to D pad and other to GND pad. Only use caps as last resort to fine tune it.

2. U need to try all different combination of dips, check out the success installs for cr4 to get some ideas. http://team-xecuter.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?253-Xecuter-CR4-XL-Succesful-Test-Reports

3. U can get better boot times than what u are getting. Shud see mostly 1 and 2 cycles if installed and tuned correctly.

Ok thank you for the info sir.

but at what point do i try to add a cap?
First try with dips and when you achieve the best time possible, try with caps, start with a 10pF and keep trying.

Good luck!

EDIT: Your CR4 switch is on Phat position.
