Hello all, hope everyone is well.

so on the CR4 or any TX glitch chip, what kind of signal is sent to the CR_EN pad when it is being told to not glitch?
is it a 3 or 5 volt signal or something different?

So lets say that i want to be able to turn off the coolrunner without removing the 5 volt Hot wire. send a signal to it to turn off, how would i go about this?
i have thought about installing a switch on the 5v power wire but i want to use the CR_EN option.
No i am not using a Demon dual nand.

Anyone know what kind of signal it is?

thanks in advance

The CR_EN is pulled high (3.3V) to enable and low to disable. Look here.

I have to ask though.... Why are you doing this? The console will not boot with the CR disabled.

I understand your curiosity. well basically i have a friend who has a slim i Just RGHed yesterday. works amazing BTW.
He understands that you can always revert back to a retail IMG with his nands dumps.
also has a External nand hookup so its very easy to read and write to the nand and wants to be able to simply flash a freeboot or retail IMG as he desires.
and wants to be able to disable the CR4 when he flashes retail. without removing 5v wire.

Tried to tell him about the TX demon but is not willing to spend more money. so this is what he wants.

what do you think about installing a switch on the 5v wire?
That would probably be the easiest thing to do but sometimes you can get away with not disabling the CR at all and other times it will cause the system not to boot retail with in enabled.

Nowhere
switch cross 5 volt would be how i went with that.would also note to customer that if its a 4gb corona, the more ya mess with it (r/w) imo you run more risk of needing a 16mb conversion doing this.

I agree with you 100% but if it was a customer i would just say hey if this is what you are trying to achieve you want the TX Demon and simply leave it at that.
however in this case he is a very good friend and has seen almost every ounce of work i have done on 360 and ps3 so he is very aware of what can be done. already told him that if he screws it up from flashing back and forth that i will not touch it and he would have to buy a new Slim mobo and RE use the CR4
yes i would still try to recover it if such things come along but im not letting him know that. lol

While the demon is the best option for dual nand, all you really need to pull it off is a nand chip, a diode, and a DPDT switch. that will give you everything you need to dual nand an xbox cheap. Just pull a nand chip off a dead board, and go from there, it will cost 5$ max, and save your friend tons of money. look into nandwitch mod, which was one of the original, and hardest dual nands to install. The diode get connected from sync button to sbr point on the motherboard, the switch turns the cr4 on and off, and switces the nand. So if you pull it off, you will have 2 nands stacked on top of each other, with all the pins except ce connected together, and the ce trace cut, and soldered to the center pole, of one side of the switch, and connect 5v to the other center pole, connect the 5v from the switch on one side of the switch. that will switch off the cr4. connect ce from each nand to their respective poles on the switch, so retail will be the side with no wires across from it, and rgh will be on the the side the cr4's 5v wire is connected to.

not nessasarily, it is more of a pain to set up, but should be do able. look into the dual nand guides at teamx360.co.uk. It is a tricky mod, but it is completly do able to have a dual nand 4gb carona.

Forgive my ignorance but would that work with the method you described above? I know the guide your talking about but I thought I disabled the 4G chip for good.

Never mind. I was thinking of another guide.
