sometimes we make mistakes when we are learning new things.

My advice is if you are going to attempt to solder this ALT point then be careful and don't do what you did on the other side.
use a good amount of flux and be gentle with it, don't hold the solder iron on this point for more then a second or two. get in and get out. tape the wire down after you clean up flux to make sure it doesn't get pulled off. good luck sir

I just had to do this on an old Box I had. Just barely scratch it, mine was very simple. I didn't have to dig or anything difficult. Just make sure you barely expose it. Once you see metal stop, clean the point, solder quickly like Joshypoo said. I taped mine down quickly after. I also had the wire prepared to solder the other end to my CR4XL so it wouldn't require me pulling it, cutting it, etc.
You should be fine but make sure you don't heat it too much. Then, you should be good.
I wouldn't attempt it if you aren't confident in your Soldering Skills.
