UPDATE: Found this on another site:

Code:
I got good news 4 ya i finnaly backed it up! and no coasters made. just use XBC and click on unlock drive and the volume size will change and backup partition only then extract the ss,dmi, pif from the disk use ss merger 1.7b to recompile it back to ISO and burn back with XBC you'll get some errors saying extreme style iso and 9 cration error but i kept saying yes and it burnt 100% and loaded it into me fw flashed 360 and there she be..
Same instructions as burning the Star Trek Legacy game looks like to me.

I'll try it again tonite...

I did what you suggested. But when i go to use the merger it tells me that the ss image is wrong and something about the xtreme size and won't let me merge. any suggestions.

crackdown.iso is Xtreme style length. you click ok then
do you want to calculate the md5 sum and verify online for the iso entry? [md5 calculation can take a while with big files] you chose yes or no ? chose no and open the ones your extracted and it stays in the red in the md5 sum. won't merge.

Here is what worked for me. I am not the author (sdeens), I just rewrote it for my own easy viewing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seems there is a little difference in this game (as well as a couple of others) when it comes to backing it up:

1.) Launch XboxBackupCreator v2.3.
2.) Select Drive Tools.
3.) Unlock Drive--IMPORTANT NOTE - Press this twice to get it to recognize the partition size correctly (that's the bug in it--no big deal--its NOT always automatically detected)--ignore the response that says drive is already unlocked--that's the KREON firmware doing its job, I suspect.
4.) READ image button--select "current partion" NOT "complete backup.
5.) It will be 7,135,744 (or: 7,307,001 if you go into Properties---that's why I don't use the PROPERTY values).
6.) XBC v2.3--Go back to Drive Tools and extract all three (SS, PFI and DMI)--YES definately all 3! ---2kb each in size
7.) Save to same folder as the .iso that XBC v2.3 created earlier
8.) Launch SS Merger 1.7b--use these settings as shown here:

9.) Ignore the request to do an on-line Xtereme verfication--select NO when prompted.
10.) Press the MERGE button--this takes about 30-45 minutes to merge the new complete ISO
11.) Burn wih ImgBurn v2.1..same deal as before--I used 4x speed on Verbatim DVD +R DL media

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I followed the instructions to the letter and it worked perfectly for me using the pioneer 11D DVD Burner and the Samsung Kreon flashed DVD ROM. You'll need XBOX360 SS Merger 1.7b to join the files together. I used Image Burn to burn the disc on DVD+R Dual Layer Ink Jet printable RiDATA discs from the shop4tech website. I have burned over 35 discs so far and not one coaster.

Same process with newer games like Star Trek and others with a 5.32mb video partition. Hopefully there will be an updated XBC to fix this issue.

:D just download XBC 2.4 All ure Crackdown worries will be sorted.
Thanks tinkergbr Works Perfect!

To backup Crackdown, Star Trek Legacy, and most of the Newer games that give the Invalid Visible Partition Size error, Use XBC Version 2.4

The new version 2.4 will do complete backup without having to SS Merge!

Totally uninstall XBC v2.3 Reboot then Download XBC v2.4. I did not use the installer just unRaR'ED and started XBC_2.4_.EXE

These new games may still give a cannot read disc error even with ver2.4 if so just click Drive Tab, Unlock Drive, then you may see Game partition Window set at 6.87GB. Then your Good to go. Although it should say 7.05GB it still works anyway. Then click Read tab, Complete Backup and works just like all the other games. You Can then use XBC or whatever burning method you choose to Burn like normal!

Got it first try without any coasters :D

No SS Merging, Just XBC Rip and Burn!

GoodLuck
