Cronwell BIOS bypassed when motherboard is hot?

I installed the solderless xapter with the arched D0 wire. I get the Cronwell BIOS initially, then after a few boots, I get only the Microsoft BIOS. If I power down the box for a while, I can get the Cronwell BIOS again. My expectation is that the Cronwell should come up everytime (or whatever BIOS has been flashed) when the chip is enabled. Could it be that the D0 pin loosened after the motherboard got hot?

The arched wire has since snapped off leaving pice in the hole. I plan to solder the grey wire to the alternate point on the bottom of the board. I am still curious though if the problem was with the d0 point.
