Custom Sounds on Slim RGH without Sonus 360, is it possible?

I don't consider myself a complete noob, as I have installed about 5 R-JTAG's and 6 Slim Proto V2/CR4 with demons.

The one thing I haven't messed with was custom sounds (Power, Eject, etc.), I see that Sonus 360 works with PHAT's and Slim E's is it possible add custom sounds to a normal Slim RGH (Trinity/Corona) install without having a Sonus 360 installed?

I apologize if this has been described elsewhere, but I had no luck finding information on this specific topic.

Yes. You can make your own. Get yourself a small speaker and do a direct wire install to flash the sounds. If you dig hard enough, you'll find the pinout. I don't know if there's one here but I do know there's one on Hacksden.

I'm not clear on why I would need to install an additional speaker. These consoles already have the stock speaker, is it not possible to update the firmware with updated audio files?
And by direct wire install are you referring to a Nand-X or JR Programmer wire install?
