Hello,
I was curious if i have a d16d4s drive with winbond chipset, and i have a copy of the original firmware,the entire dump, just not key extraction, is it possible to flash it on a d16d4s card with an MXIC chipset and use that in the same drive?

Reason i ask, is i think my kamikaze is going bad, it writes kind of funky, and is hit or miss... And i have a spare board out of another drive, but it's a MXIC chipset.

I will buy the TX Unlocked board if I have to, just would like to use what I already have if I can.

yes, just dump the information of the original on the MXIC, might need to be updated though after.

btw wouldnt if be just cheaper to buy the replacement tx board at this point?

What I meant by hit or miss, is when i kamikazed the drive, everything went ok and i read the original FW successfully, but everytime i write, i get verify unsuccessful. and it never gets to the next part, restoring the sector. But, it works, and will play backups. Im just worried about writing the next lt+ firmware if it ever needs to be updated. And, like i said, I already have another drive with the MXIC chipset in it, that I was going to borrow the board from.

Do you have your ofw loaded into jf along with your cfw when you flash your drive? If not that may be why your getting failed verification.
