This is my first post but I have read up a whole lot on RGH but have a question. I have a STBY_CLK pad that needs to be repaired, I know in order to do this I need to run a wire from the Resistor to its trace. My question is what is scraping the trace and is it necessary for this easy fix. I am following ubers guide to let you guys know. Thank You

Scraping the trace means using a fiberglass pen (or if you're daring an exacto knife) to scrape away the glass of the motherboard to reveal the bare trace to the solder point. Since the point needs to be repaired, you are connecting it to some area of exposed trace you uncovered. The issue with doing this is that the trace is very small and easily damaged. So, use extreme caution, and do not scrape too deep, otherwise you will cut through the chase.

Thanks For The Help!! Will Post Again When I Try This Out. I Gots To Get A Fiber Glass Pen. I Think Its Best To Learn From Own Screw Ups You Learn ALot More!!!
You don't need a fiber glass pen. Just use a small knife and scrape the trace very lightly until you see the wire underneath.

yea an exacto knife on those small ass traces for a noob,thats great advice right there. get a fiberglass pen.
