I know this is an older dash, but my modded console i recieved has this dash on. Now this 360 has a LTU PCB, i know a while back everyone used to say you HAVE to revert back to stock flash before ever doing an update, but now we have LTU PCB drives that view has changed somewhat and now almost everyone updates without reverting back to stock. But as this is an older Dash am i ok to update on a LTU PCB?. As there doesnt appear to be much info about for older Dash's and updating procedures on LTU PCB drives

You should always revert to stock before performing an update from XBL, USB or CD.

This advice won't ever change.

Just put the original board back and update.

Plus i dont have the original board...so i guess i have no choice. I really cant see everyone who has a LTU, un-soldering and soldering back in there original PCB every time an update comes out though!. I know to be 100% safe you always should revert back to the original stock, and 99% of people always used to, but i bet that has turned around now and 99% of people dont do it anymore since no one got banned from updating from flashed drive...or has been confirmed?

What if you have used the ltu for a 16D4S without the original drive though, then you have no choice ?
In this instance, you're right - there is no choice so the question wouldn't even be asked :)

If you can return to stock, you should do it.

I am sure you can just hook up the stock pcb without putting it in a drive to do the update.
