i was checking tutorials of RGH and i found the quoted stuff, but in all the tutorials i had seen before never saw it, is it really important, does it really affect ?

do i need to flash back to stock firmware before doing RGH ?
updating after dumping the nand cause problems ?

my dashboard is 2.0.13146.0

thanks

1. Update the console to dash version 14699

It's recommended to update the console to dash version 14699. If the 360 DVD drive has iXtreme firmware, flash it to stock firmware first to prevent any update problems. Use the correct (pre or post 13146) stock firmware for the dash version on the console. Connect a FAT32 formatted USB drive to the 360 with the latest dash copied to it. The update runs automatically if the console is already running or when it's powered on.

If the dash is updated after dumping the Nand, the CPU LDV values won't match the Nand dumps. (Trust me, this isn't something pleasant to deal with and no, I wasn't foolish enough to do it.)

Hi.
it means that after you read the nand do not update the console or the ldv values will not match.
It makes no difference which firmware you have on your dvd drive.
You only need to flash your drive back to stock if you are installing an official MS system update
You will not need to update after reading the nand, if you use the latest j-runner then your xbox will be on the latest dash after you RGH it.

OP - where did you get that quote from? There's no source.

If you have a slim and your dashboard is pre-12625, I would advise NOT updating it. If you have a 9504 drive then it'll still be unlocked at this stage and the moment you update the console you'll invoke the SPI lock. Much better to just RGH it as-is.

In closing, you should NOT have to update ANYTHING prior to RGH.

Well that's what you get for not following a T-X endorsed guide ;)

Yeah, leave at 13146 as 13599 locks the SPI on 9504 drives.
i just got the coolrunner and the nand-x , i haven't done anything yet , i'm just reading and preparing to do it.

which of this 3 files should i download for the jrunner ?
Download 14719 Files: http://bit.ly/ybX9JW
Download 14717 Files: http://bit.ly/yhrUwD
Download 14699 Files: http://bit.ly/yYmKva

is this the latest driver for the nand-x ?
