dashboard help!!!!

OK so I am really struggling to undderstand this dashboard shananigans!
I have the X3 bios so I know that I dont need the evolutuion X bios, BUT I cant download the EvoX dashboard on its own!!! the whole evox comes in one rar file called EvolutionX build 3935. When I extract it all, all the files are there that the tutorial says to put onto disc BUT the tutorial is pre-X3 so I dont know which files to burn onto disc if I just want the dashboard, does anyone know????
Also I think I have my xbox and my PC networked........but how do I tell??? The IP address's and all that seems ok but how do I test it without the EvoX dash and just the X3 bios???? Because if I knew this then I would just put the dash on via FTP, but it seems you need the dash first?!?!?!?! Now Ive just got myself really confused

You can FTP through X3CL. Plug your computer in then reboot. Go to the network settings screen. It should show you your xbox's ip address. Open your FTP program and try to connect using your box's IP as the URL and using X3 as username and password.
