Hi,

I'm preparing to flash my XBOX Slim, and i still haven't updated the dashboard I'm still on 9199, so I was wondering, can anyone tell me if I should update the dashboard, and what do I get beside being able to play online?

And is there any prerequisites for the LT+ firmware, like does LT+ 2.0 need to have a newer dashboard or will it work the same on 9199 dash, I'm thinking of updating to
12416 with the AP25 bypass method found in the forums.

So my question is should I update and why, and if there are prerequisites what are they ?

Sorry if this has been answered earlier, I couldn't find the answer, that's why I posted.

You should update first. If you dont when you put in a newer game it may make you update before playing the game possibly causing new problems.

If you update from a backup to a newer dash it has been causing problems for some because the new updates flash your drive back to stock, meaning that the disc will stop being able to be read half way through the update not allowing you to finish the update.

If you decide to update from a usb or original it will flash you back to stock and you will have update to lt 2.0 again which means you just wasted your time.

Sorry for the edit. i missed the slim part. If you update to the newest dash your drive will become locked meaning you will have to unlock it with one of the slim unlock methods. I'm no expert in that area so i'll leave it for someone else to explain.

The SLIM 0225 is locked from the start so there is no reason to revert to stock, as far as I know and read on the forums here, it's safe to update on locked SLIMS, but not on PHATS.

And I'm gonna use a TX Unlocked PCB.

Does any one know if there is a prerequisite for the LT+ firmware like which dash you should be on or it doesn't mater?

You should revert to stock on ANY drive before updating (if its been flashed with anything BUT stock of course). This is the appropriate action if you want to be 100% sure that you have followed the safest procedure possible. I don't care what you have read elsewhere.

You haven't mentioned if you were flashed to anything beforehand. if not then simply update to the latest dash and then dump and then flash your TX PCB as instructed. I have absolutely no idea why you have to even ask when it clearly tells you to do this in the tutorial for that model. You think I write those guides for fun and that they are totally inaccurate that you have to confirm with your own post ?

OK, tnx for that, but still no answer on the previous question?

Like does LT+2.0 need newer dash than the one I'm using or not?

The drive has never been flashed, so it's original, I'm waiting for my CK3i so I can flash it,
already got everything but CK3i.

Your question is answered in the tutorials and in many many posts here - you really should read before posting.

And if its never been flashed why are you even TALKING about reverting to stock - why even mention it for a nano second.

if you spent more time reading the easy instructions you wouldn't be confusing yourself so much.

I read your guide before asking and inside it doesn't say update to the newest dash or anything like that, that is why I asked.

The following guide assumes you have updated to the new XGD3 dashboard 2.0.13599.0 (or newer) - Your Liteon DG-16D4S will have been updated to a new firmware if its a 9504 (new fw 0272) - all other versions of firmware for this drive (0225, 0401, 1071 etc) are locked against firmware updates but still require the latest dashboard. The guide also assumes that you have your drive key saved, a DUMMY.BIN or Original Firmware Dump (OFW).

If you do not have the latest dashboard then you will need to update. You must first revert to your stock firmware before updating. You can either update on Xbox Live or by using a USB stick. If you already have the latest dashboard you do not need to revert to stock to update to LT+ 2.0.

To make sure that your system has been updated simply goto the System Info tab and check the dashboard version. It should say 2.0.13599.0. If it doesn't then you have not updated your console yet so this guide is not applicable to you and you will not be able to continue until you update.
