Dead Jasper after booting w/coolrunner installed but ecc not yet written

I have done heaps of installs, and before jrunner, I never installed the chip before writing the ecc. But the guide says to do this, so I have and it seems that when the CR blinks green as the console is booting, it does something bad to the console. One was booting and some smoke came from the front of the console.

After this, console gives 0022 error, even with CR uninstalled.

I have only had this problem with jaspers, but since I no longer do this, and have been writing the ecc BEFORE booting with the CR installed, no more problems.

This seems to be quite a common problem with jaspers and last time i checked no one had worked out a fix

I dont think installing the coolrunner before writing the ecc would cause your xbox to smoke, more likely to be bad soldering or a short somewhere.

I would agree. Why would a software change cause something to or to not smoke? It doesn't make any sense.

Either way, smoke is never ever a good sign. You probably have destroyed your console.

Just looking up info on 0022 error and comes up with bridge solder joint/short gpu -hana
Also have a look in the area where the smoke came from for damaged part like smd capacitor or something like

Most likely the stby_clk as you are getting 0022
