i dont get it this console never had heat issues or red rings the only thing ive ever done was internalize the hdd and its been going since. well yesterday a wire broke on my power connector for the hdd so i got some desoldering braid and pulled all the wires and cleaned everything up and went to test it without the hard dive and it worked fine for like ten minutes then shut off, no power no lights anything. ive tried diff rf boards and bricks it just quit any ideas on what to do?

unplug the power supply and let it sit for a few minutes plug it back in , if that doesnt do it your going to need to start checking for bad components onboard if you have the know how :)

sorry for double post dont seem to have an edit function... when you unplug the console do it from the wall outlet to allow the power supply time to reset if that is the problem

ive checked 5vsb and the 2 linear regulators all the correct voltages are present, the power brick is just orange and nothing changes when i try to power on the console. anything else im needing to check? also i was told to test resistance on 5vsb to gnd what should the value be?

Can you read NAND?

ok did that and still nothing but the ANA is still getting hot plugged in by usb with no power brick so im starting to think its in the 5vsb line or something around the ANA

is 44.8 ohms of resistance from 5vsb to ground normal/good?

Okay so you cant read nand with 5v mod either.

This sounds like the same problem people have when they damage STBY_CLK point installing RGH, no boot and no reading nand even with 5v mod.

Dont know about 5v sb resistance I'm afraid.

ya im deff at a loss theres just something pulling power cause it drops from 5v to like 4.89 and the ANA heats up im thinking maybe a resistor but have no idea where to start

o and the resistance on 5vsb i believe is a bad thing on my working boards its barely anything at all

well i have tried changing numerous mosfets but not sure on what im doing lol, what i cant seem to figure out is whats causing the heat on the ANA as soon as i plug in the power brick or do the 5v mod anyone?
