Definitions or wiki for all 360 JTAG/RGH applications? Do I understand correctly?

I'm trying to do as much research as possible before RGH my console but there is a ton of information out there and some of it is old or applies to JTAG but not RGH, etc.

Here is some random information that I think I understand but if not can somebody please correct me?

Xell / ECC Glitch Image - NAND image containg Xell for booting CPLD/RGH machines. (uses .ECC filename extension but is essentially a NAND .bin)

freeBOOT - NAND image that patches the X-Box kernel to allow unsigned code to run, etc. Only used for JTAG and not RGH. Alternative to Xell.

fbBuild - Application that creates freeBOOT NAND image files. Only used for JTAG and not RGH.

ggBuild - Application that creates "ggBuild" NAND image files which is essentially "freeBOOT" but for RGH systems.

Multi-Builder - Application that is a GUI for fbBuild and ggBuild.

xeBuild - Alternative to Multi-Builder (same purpose).

xenon.elf - ELF binary file automatically launched from Xell. (ie. can be used to start another application after Xell launches)

Do I understand everything correctly? I might post a few more terms/apps that I don't understand such as:

DashLaunch - X-Box 360 application (???) that can launch different dashboards at startup. This is started from ggBuild or freeBOOT (???)

Freestyle Dash (FSD) - Alternative dashboard to NXE (X-Box 360 dashboard). Not installed into NAND but is intead launched from ggBuild or freeBOOT (or DashLaunch) (???).

DashLaunch - X-Box 360 application that can launch a default.xex at startup (FSD, XexMenu, etc). Also, based on an .ini, you can tweak various settings, such as blocking acces to XBLive, system updates and others.

Freestyle Dash (FSD) - Alternative dashboard to NXE (X-Box 360 dashboard). Better dashboard, in my opinion, main features being the samba server (by this, you can acces the Xbox shares from PC, without the aid of a FTP application), temperatures monitoring and setting speed of fans, custom covers download and so on.
Not installed into NAND but launched from HDD/USB devices. Can be launched with Dashlaunch at start, even "replacing" the default dashboard (it dosen't really replace the MS Dashboard, but can be autolaunched at startup and after exiting a game, without the user sensing the MS Dashboard).

Thanks for the extra information!

You said that Dashlaunch is an application, but how does xeBuild/ggBuild/J-Runner "embed" the Dashlaunch stuff into the NAND? ...or is it doing something else?

xeBuild - Alternative to Multi-Builder (same purpose).

This is wrong. xeBuild is ggBuild and fbBuild combined and can also generate retail images. It's the backbone to every image building GUI out there.

And to your question about DashLaunch it has two files it embeds in the NAND at build time. launch.xex and lhelper.xex. These two files are what makes DashLaunch operate the way it does.

Ahhh, OK. Thanks!

So... ggBuild and fbBuild are both obsolete and replaced by xeBuild?

Also, do I understand correctly that DashLaunch can operate a standalone application OR be embedded into the NAND? (the readme for DashLaunch seems to indicate that you need to copy the .xex file onto your storage device, etc)

this will be more understanding after you get those in your PC & XBOX 360 .

Dash-launch is like Control panel of your Jtag/RGH'ed Xbox ,how will xbox act that can set by Dash-launch !

I think to answer your question, yes Dashlaunch can be built into the nand. As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure it can run as a standalone application as you say. You can download the standalone dashlaunch installer, but all it does is inject it into your nand.

I'm sure someone will correct me if that's not right, but that's my understanding.

The launch.ini file that dashlaunch looks for is the configuration setting for the built in dashlaunch.
