I am new to SX OS, but when I have wanted or needed to do this, I would unmount that game, then through the Switch UI, "Delete Software" as it does not delete your saves. I should add that I primarily use XCI files, and if your original game is an NSP it would likely remove the game.

Is there any downside to using this approach with XCI files? Sorry to piggyback on your thread but I have been wondering as well.

If you mean the files themselves that you used to update, then you either have the option to delete right after it installs, use NXShell homebrew to browse your SD card, connect via FTP to the switch or power down eject your SD card and use your computer to delete the files. If you mean delete the actual update from the game, I think you would have to delete the game, reinstall and then just not install the update.

I have games installed as xci and have installed NSP updates for the games. I can remove the xci file to delete the game but how do I find and delete the nsp update?
