JTAG Demon and Fusion?

I may be jumping the gun considering how recently the Fusion posting was made, but if anyone has some insights, I have a few questions.

I've got a phat (fairly sure it's a Zephyr, but don't have it handy to check). It's been updated to the latest dash so I can use my Kinect, and I've kept it offline for the past two years. At this point, I know that the efuse is blown so I can't do the traditional JTAG method, but with the news of the Demon and Fushion kernel, I'm curious if this is going to open up JTAG for someone late to the game.

I have the Blaster CK3, which I used to successfully LT flash my BenQ drive and recently picked up the X360USB PRO to make things easier on keeping up with revisions and not having to fuss with my SATA ports. I've been fairly happy with this solution and burning backups (I also have the special drive in my PC to rip disks), but I'd really like to move towards a "jukebox" solution.

I've been eyeing the ODD emulator solutions, ****** and x360key, but if my understanding is correct, JTAG would allow me to run games straight from the internal drive without the need for an external HDD.

Based on the experience and knowledge of the TX forum goers, do you think that it's worthwhile with my 14719 dash Zephyr to hold out for Demon and Fusion? Or should I just jump on one of the ODD emulators?

I've also considered getting a Slim, but only if Demon and Fusion are going to let me achieve JTAG-esq feature set.

All feedback is appreciated. I've been in and out of the scene since the first ixtreme revisions, and my JTAG knowledge has surely lapsed. Worse, I have a loose understanding at best of the RGH.

Thanks!

Hi. You've kinda answered your own question... If the efuses are blown, Jtag is out of the question but you could probably still get RGH done.

RGH is the new Jtag. Both let you run games from the Internal HDD or from a external HDD via FSD or XEXmenu.

From what I've read Fusion is a custom kernel... way over my head .

X360key lets you play backups from a USB HDD too but I prefer RGH or Jtag and think it's more user (noob) friendly and have more features (custom dash, etc.)

IMO I would RGH the xbox with a coolrunner DemoN when it comes out. Seeing you are on 14719 you will have to wait for RGH 2.0 anyway.

It will give you some time to read up on the hack and maybe more info on fusion.

JTAG on phat = no Xbox live

RFH on phat = Xbox live with demon set to stock
I assume by RFH you meant RGH :p. But it sounds like you only use your xbox for offline and I right? If so it may be cheaper to wait for RGH 2.0 and then use the original coolrunner and not the DemoN.

By you the second time I meant OP.

I'd like to thank everyone for their input.

As Lucky257 said, I only intend to use my modded box offline. I mistakenly took my first LT flashed online for a dash update and got immediately banned, despite having never played any games on Live and making sure all of my discs had been stealth checked.

Though the features haven't been clarified yet, it seems like Fusion's custom kernel is going to give the largest feature set. Hopefully it comes out within the next two or three months, otherwise I may settle for the ODE solution.

I'll have to practice my soldering skills as it's been a while since I took intro to electronics in college. Can anyone perhaps detail how much of a bother coolrunner was to install?

Dude, Go with the RGH and a coolrunner when 2.0 comes out. This way you will have RGH for now and then have most of what you need for Fusion when it does launch.

RGH is GREAT
