Hi all just testing a demon before starting install like I always do :D

But I'm having issues when trying to dump the demon nand I have tried Toolbox & JRunner logs below.

Now the read attempts are just with the demon plugged in to my pc via USB no soldering or anything as happened yet...

Demon Toolbox says the following

***** NAND-Flash Information *****

Manufacturer: Hynix
Device: HY27US08281A
Device Id: 0xAD73
Number of Blocks: 1024
Number of Pages per Block: 32
Page Size: 528 bytes
Number of Invalid Blocks: 0

Full backup selected.
Reading.
ERROR: Block 3, page 0 contains corrupt data.

Fails to even read the NAND....

Jrunner says the following

Reading Nand to C:\FAULTY_DEMON\nanddump1.bin
DEMON
Hardware : Demon Slim
Firmware : 1.0
Flash ID : 0x73AD Hynix (16MiB - Small block)
Flash Size : 0x400 blocks of 0x4200 bytes
Reading Nand
Done!
in 0:26 min:sec

Reading Nand to C:\FAULTY_DEMON\nanddump2.bin
Initializing Nand..
Header is wrong..
Reading Nand
Done!
in 0:25 min:sec

Comparing...
0x0003

Then just freezes :(

No I have a few demons here so obviously I tried all of them and all read just fine so I doubt it's anything to do with my PC setup.

Is this my first DOA Demon?

Have you tried erasing the DemoN NAND and then writing a known good NAND to it?
Hi Martin thanks for taking the time to reply.

I have not done anything apart from try to dump the Demon NAND to check for bad blocks as you know any bad blocks will cause problems later on.

It was something I considered earlier but I did not want to void my warranty so have contacted the seller for advice on how to proceed, but also posted here to see if anyone as seen this error before.

Since there's no data on the DemoN to begin with, there's actually nothing to dump. Erasing and writing to it via the Micro-USB port won't invalidate anything. It's only until you solder it in you've stepped over the line.

Ok I first ERASE NAND using Demon ToolBox

***** NAND-Flash Information *****

Manufacturer: Hynix
Device: HY27US08281A
Device Id: 0xAD73
Number of Blocks: 1024
Number of Pages per Block: 32
Page Size: 528 bytes
Number of Invalid Blocks: 0

Erasing.
Marking invalid blocks.
Erasing completed successfully in 0 seconds!

Then I programmed the NAND using a known good Retail dump

***** NAND-Flash Information *****

Manufacturer: Hynix
Device: HY27US08281A
Device Id: 0xAD73
Number of Blocks: 1024
Number of Pages per Block: 32
Page Size: 528 bytes
Number of Invalid Blocks: 0

Loading image.
Remapping invalid blocks.
Erasing.

Now I READ the NAND back again using Demon ToolBox

***** NAND-Flash Information *****

Manufacturer: Hynix
Device: HY27US08281A
Device Id: 0xAD73
Number of Blocks: 1024
Number of Pages per Block: 32

Full backup selected.
Reading.
