So I'm at a loss here. I may be missing something stupid(If I am take it easy on me, its late.) Im installing a demon on a Jasper SB. Before I installed it I updated to the latest FW(1.04) and wrote a NAND to it, read it back twice, and they both compared to the original. Now upon removing the micro usb the plug came with it, but it was already tested so I went ahead installing it. Everything hooked up, but I can't get it to read the NAND. Hell I can't even get the little blue light to come on on the little board.I have continuity between all points and the alternates. I also have continuity between both boards. Now I also have some cross over which I don't remember if its supposed to be there but like pin 1 and 4 I believe are connected. Could that be the issue?

Edit I just re looked at the pictures, its looks like 5v is on wrong point, but it is good, just bent and picture taken weird. \

Yep. and I noticed while running the mulitmeter down the backside of the usb board that some of the pins, like there is continuity between pins 5 and 8 Is that supposed to happen. Also if pin 3 and 4 i believe are jumped, the light comes on. Its weird.

try reseating the ribbon cable on the demon sometimes the ribbon cable can slip under the cable connecter
Tried that, but I am getting continuity from the usb board to the demon. I'm pretty sure its in right. And not sure if this helps, but I believe its trying to boot the dummy nand on the demon, as I get 0022 if I try to boot.

Check that you didn't damage any of the fragile pins on the ribbon cable while connecting it to the DemoN and external module.

The DemoN's NAND is selected by default when 5v is applied to the console (this happens when the PSU is connected).

I opened up another demon and tried the cable out of it. Same thing, got continuity between the usb board and the demon, but still no blue light. Now when I hook up the usb to the computer, it does detect something, but it doesn't know what its detecting.

The external module is grounded. And 100% positive 5v is correct. Now I just double checked what i said earlier. If I jump pins 5 and 6 together(I found this by accident as I was check continuity and multimeter accidentally touched both) but the blue lights do come on. And thats pin 5 and 6 where the ribbon cable hooks up to the demon. So I know its getting power, and the cable is making contact because the lights do come on by jumping those pins on the demon. I'm really at a loss.

Try installing a different demon. It is an idea, not a great 1 but it is worth a try. Or you could try dumping your nand with a jr-p and then creating a glitch/jtag/retail image and flashing it to the demon and make sure it boots, then you could just wire up the sync button and switch nands this way. The latest xebuild and dashlaunch have an updater that will update your console, so the usb light board isnt really needed anymore.

I wish I had another phat demon to try. I only got a slim. Next on the list is to try and dump with jrprogrammer, but I still don't know how I would write to demon. This is a weird one.
