FIXED demon pad lifted

hi, i ve received a mobo from customer with pad lifted on demon chip(next to purple wire).Im wondering if is a alternate point to solder

Ive solderedd to the trace but didnt last long

From what I could make out from the slim install guide the track leads directly to one of the pins on the MCU.

Take a look at the attachment to see the trace clearly and at this pic where the traces can just about be made out: http://www.xecuter.com/demon/slim_install_diagram_final.jpg

Check with a multimeter for continuity between the broken trace and the pin before soldering anything or if you don't have a multimeter wait for a mod to verify.

It looks correct to me after checking the trace on a DemoN I have here.

However - as you rightly said - a continuity test should be done to make sure it's the correct pin.

I'd personally solder to the IC's pin and put some tape somewhere along the middle of the wire to hold it in place.

Well done on the fix, but you should really secure that wire with a piece of tape or something.

One slight movement or knock will probably break the connection and cause more damage.
