DemoN questions

Hi all,

I just bought an Xbox 360 S Trinity with dashboard 2.0.14717.0 to replace my JTAG Elite (RGH and DemoN). I do have a couple of questions that I hope you might answer:

I read that RGH consoles take up to 2TB internal Hard Disks that will be formatted by the dashboard once it's glitched. My wish is to just have a big internal hard disk, so I don't need an external disk for my games, etc.
  1. Once I put a DemoN inside, will there be issues with the stock firmware recognizing the bigger HD?
  2. If not, will there be possible detection flags going off when connecting to Live due to the larger disk?
  3. General: if I understand it correctly, the NAND on the main board will remain stock and the custom one (with ability to run homebrew, etc) will be on the DemoN. Will the stock firmware be updatable through the regular Xbox Live updates without it affecting the DemoN NAND (based on current info, of course, might change in the future)?
  4. Will there be any significant difference between equipping the console with the CoolRunner RevC and the CoolRunner v3 Lite/Pro?
Thanks in advance for the info!

1/2. An official/retail kernel will only recognise a HDD of up to 320GB and it must be either an official HDD or one that is compatible with HDDHackr with the correct HDD security sector written to it. A JTAG or RGH system has the HDD security check removed so you can use more or less any size HDD you like.

3. That is correct - update the stock NAND with XBL and write glitch images to the DemoN.

4. The CoolRunner Rev. C is no longer in production as far as I'm aware so you may as well purchase a CR3 Lite.

Thanks for the lightning-reply :)

So just to make sure: putting in a bigger disk in a DemoN machine is not going to work due to the stock kernel not being able to read the disk, right?

Some of the shops here still have it in stock and it's cheaper. Will there be a significant difference between Rev. C and CR3 Lite (boot times/reliability/etc)?

Been reading up on it some more: using just 1 internal drive for both stock and glitched NAND isn't going to work at all?

As far as I know from everything is that retail won't see the hdd unless its an offical or hacked to be seen as one. So if you were have a stock drive for xbl then a drive for glitch you will be set. My box is just glitch (well fusion) and you really don't need the caddy so if ya want you could always buy offical and just swapp out when you want. There are also guys here who have made mods to switch the drive when you switch your nand.

The internal drive will work for both nands. Homebrew will be seen as corrupt data when on retail. Not entirely sure about how safe it is, but it does work.
