I love it when people blame hardware.ugggh it didn't work...well the only thing I'm left with is a defective demon...It must have burnt out when the other system it was installed to shorted out...I have another one coming Monday and will simply switch this defective one out.
I love it when people blame hardware.
If it was installed properly into the first system it would be working fully.
But the other system got scrapped and now you have another demon coming which no doubt you would pull pads from taking out current one.
First fail should of been time to get a pro.
Good luck to ya. Must have more money than sense
I actually feel pain for you. I have installed 4 of these now and not had an issue other then bad blocks on a slim.yea well I want to be able to sell dual NAND systems so I simply have to figure it out. It may seem stupid to keep buying demons and messing up the installs but I will eventually get it...and when I do that will be it, I will have figured it out. I'm way too stubborn and hard headed to just throw in the towel or hand it over to someone else. I just HAVE to get it one way or the other...And I have had a hard time removing demons and lifting pads but I think I may have it down now...the trick is to use hot air and heat it up very slowly and gently nudge with a small screwdriver until it slides off the pads. I used the same technique to remove the RJTAG install from my stubborn zephyr that I actually installed on this Jasper here. If you look closely you can see how the jumper and the switch melted a bit on the Aud clamp QSB...luckily my jasper booted and I don't have to switch it. And luckily the demon doesn't have any plastic parts minus the connectors but the heat won't be close enough to them to do any damage.
Oh and I wasn't saying that the demon was defective from the factory...I fully admit that it was damaged when the other system it was in shorted out on my workbench and I take full responsibility for damaging it...It was all my fault.
and if everybody quit upon first failure there wouldn't be any pros.
at least I successfully installed my first RJTAG with no hiccups at all so you see this wasn't a complete and utter failure.
Yea well I do need to upgrade to a professional desoldering gun. I do read but there's so much information it's hard to sift through it all and absorb what's necessary...I've been through every sticky on this site multiple times and I use the search functions to seek out similar threads with issues that I'm having. And as far as selling systems, I already sell regular RGH and can do an install very quickly...It's not really the hardware end of it that's messing me up, it's more of a getting lost within concepts and not really knowing where to look for information...It'll all be sorted out...I actually am starting to have a pretty good grasp on the information now and I'm pretty confident that this new demon coming in Monday will work perfectly.Your techniques are very off and obviously over time you will learn how to solder/ desolder correctly.
But its the understanding and reading you need to do to install these things.
Its all well and done just following a install picture and guide but you need to know off hand how to fix when you f**k up.
You shouldnt be installing or even thinking about selling dual nand systems if you have to make a thread on here halfway through each install.
I appreciate it...well the first 3 I tried installing I lifted pads off of the demon itself. I finally got the right soldering tip (mini conical) for my aoyue 968 and have been able to get the points done relatively easily...My last install since upgrading to the right soldering iron tip went well but then I had the board short out on me and blew the demon...So now that I have the soldering down and know the ins and outs of flashing the NAND with what size to which side there's not really much else that can go wrong. All I need is the proper soldering, which I have already accomplished, and the proper programming, which I have learned extensively over the last day or so. Once I finally finish my first proper install I will be able to streamline the process and repeat it over and over. I've done RJTAG, I'm working on demon phat, then I'll do demon slim, then I have to conquer corona RGH...all in perfect time for the Xbox one to be released and I can hit the ground running on whatever new chips come out for that....It's a long term plan, this is only a piece of the puzzle.I actually feel pain for you. I have installed 4 of these now and not had an issue other then bad blocks on a slim.
I don't really understand how you keep going through these.
I still think you need to be competent to start selling services. I wouldn't start promoting services and I've not had any issues as yet.
You're not learning from your failures though, which is why you will continue to do so.and if everybody quit upon first failure there wouldn't be any pros.
I have learned a lot from the failures as now I know what not to do. My soldering is at least above average, especially on this install here...I was only having trouble in the beginning because my tip was too big. And I would pay someone to show me how Although I really think I'm starting to get a grasp on the whole thing. I am taking advice but most of the advice was to quit and I'm not doing that. You're not learning from your failures though, which is why you will continue to do so.
Spend the money and get someone to SHOW you how to setup/solder etc, if this is a long term plan then unless you intend to wreck another 3-4 consoles, you'll be seriously out of pocket before you start.
The other reason you're failing as you can't take any advice from people who know better than you - another important step to learning.
my advice would be to nail the installs of each "exploit" / " hardware" and then offer services.I have learned a lot from the failures as now I know what not to do. The fact you were trying to write a 64MB BB NAND image to a 16MB SB NAND tells me you still have a lot to learn.I have learned a lot from the failures as now I know what not to do. this is true I admit which is why I'm reading through every thread in the demon forum right now...so far I'm halfway through the slim installation guide. The fact you were trying to write a 64MB BB NAND image to a 16MB SB NAND tells me you still have a lot to learn.
thanks I will definitely give this a shot. Does radio shack carry this? Here's a quick tip for removing your demon use low melt solder and a peace of wax paper. Just remelt your solder points with low melt solder and slide the wax paper in between the demon and the mb and bam no lifted points. low melt solder stays molten much longer than regular solder so it makes removing things with multiple points much much easer
