I have just recieved the Xecuter Demon Slim and unboxed it, checked the post about Toolbox.

Soldered on with errors in the toolbox, so I removed, and resoldered. Same problems. My understanding is that its a Demon -> Retail Nand communication problem. Highly likely from bad soldering. (I only have sh!t solder wire + a medium solder iron tip)
Tried to avoid using the QSP's again so I used Kynar wire on the pads and go straight from the resistors for d0-d7. This didnt work either.
Attempted to resolder onto the d0-d7 pads and pictures are the result. (i feel bad for posting them, as im sure you cringe at the sight of the solder workmanship)

I'm at the stage where I think its no use in trying to solder it onto the board. I really dont want to solder onto the actual nand either. I read up on other forum posts and thought it might be worthwile getting a 360Clip and jump the corresponding points from the retail nand onto the Demon so I can at least use both nands.http://www.360-clip.com/ shows that they use 48 Pin nand with a output board which would make it so much simpler to solder onto. Is this worthwhile investing in? Will it work for a Trinity Nand?

Thanks in advance. Any advice is appreciated.

Cheers

Send it to a pro next time. When you buy crap you get crap. With quality stuff you will have better results. Also flux is a must.

Everywhere
Don't start working with old and huge tip soldering irons, that, combined with flux-less soldering will kill any console.
Where are you from? There are lot of gents here that will help you fix that mess.

C'mon use a smd board from an old pc or something for practise. Youre lucky not to destroy your tyrinity with solder skills like that. Paths and solder islands easy come of the board and if youre unlucky enough it could also rip off the via's inside the board.

If you have good thin solder, about 0.1 mm and a tip with the same size you can much better dose solder connection. Also buy solder with flux inside, works better than fluxing it apart

Still, any thoughts on a 360Clip to solve the problem?

In theory it should work...

In theory its highly likely you'll kill your console for good.

Besides, thats hardly a solution to whats going on here. If you insist that sending it to someone is not an option, , you need to get ahold of a good soldering iron, some flux, a desoldering sucking pen, and some isopropanol or MEK (which I prefer), then desolder everything using the desoldering pen and soldering iron, clean everything the hell up before reattempting. Once you've done that take pics of the cleaned up area before doing anything else.
