Demon Strangeness

I have a Slim (trinity) with a demon installed. I currently have Fusion 1.09 on the Demon Nand and on the xbox nand I have a hacked dash. I had no problems at all until today. Granted I did transport the xbox to a friends house today so it may have taken a knock, anyway....

To sum up... The problem is I have no blue LED on at the back of the console and the nand switch seems not to be working and it constantly boots to fusion (Demon Nand). I wandered if the ribbon cable at the back had come loose so pressed down on that to see if things would work, but no luck.

I had an installer do all the work and he does really good soldering and is a number one guy, so rather than pay the postage I thought I'd just pop on here first to see if there is a easy fix or if it sounds like a problem that requires checking the wiring etc.

Thanks guys

Does the demon switch over at all? In other words when you press the button, does it switch?

I hate TapaTalk auto correction. Please bare with me.

Try re seating the ribbon cable into the external module.

But if that doesn't work the your either going to have to open it up take pics so we can help more, or send it off your your installer.

No the switch doesn't change the nand at all, and I've pushed the cable to make sure the connection is true.

So by the sounds of it I may need the xbox opened up and looked at.

Ok thanks guys, I'll think I'll send it to someone rather than risk doing it myself.

When you open it up the first thing I would check is that it is in XB mode and not PC mode. Having I set to PC mode will cause strange problems.

Edit: what happens when you press and hold the sync button with the power off?

The only sync button I know of is the one for the controllers, so I'm afraid you have lost me. I get by, but I'm no expert. Please eloborate if you can

If you are able and confident connect the ext usb (next to nand switch) to pc and see if demon tool box or jrunner sees the demon if not then the issue is more likely with the ribbon/ground on the external switch board however if seen on pc then like stated by others opening console is a must

An option for the demons is to solder up connections to the controller sync button to enable the ability to switch NANDs by pressing it while the console is powered off. Like I said, this is an option and would have to of been setup by the installer.

Most installers do connect it by default (I do unless asked not to) so that will probably work. It also is no big deal to open it up as perhaps your ribbon cable became unseated on the DemoN instead of on the outside. I'd suggest trying the sync button and if that doesn't work open it up and take a look before wasting time or money.

Agree with backupman no big deal to open it up.if it's been in your bag on a journey. Across town chances are the ribbon has popped off. Don't waste money sending it to some dude to just open it and clip the wire back

Sorry I didn't get back to you, but I've tested the sync switch at the front of the xbox and that switches between the nands, so it appears the switch at the back is the problem. I've given the slim to a friend who will have a fiddle with it. So I can't personally connect via usb through the demon tool box or J runner just now.

I assume that if the whole back board and switch is faulty then the usb interface won't work and that that makes it impossible to flash the demon??.

Either way I'm going to have to open up the xbox right?

Any modder in the South East (UK) that anyone can suggest

**True xXBlaZeXx I guess I should try and take it apart myself**

If it's a faulty ribbon cable, can you get replacement parts for the demon, I ask because I've not seen any

UPDATE

My friend connected the xbox via mini usb to his pc and installed Demon tool box and it doesn't register at all

then the fault should defo be in the ext module /ribbon (it was the the first step in elimination and easiest rather than opening console) try refitting ribbon
