FIXED Device Intro Failed from the get go

I have the tx probe 3 im using the sata port on my computer to connect my dvd drive to, and my xbox to power the drive. No matter what this is what i receive...

I even reconnected all the wires to double check at the end.

I follow the steps word for word click yes power off drive with button on probe touch mpx01 power back on made sure its got a good connection and same thing.


Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It's all the timing,m8t plus DON't use your xbox 360 to power your drive whilst flashing,get a TX CK3 i or CK3 pro to power your drive.
I've had Lite-on drives in the phat consoles that have been proper pigs to get the Key extracted.Believe me it's ALL down to getting the timing right

im curious how quick i should be after i click yes to turning the drive off and probing it?

Ive read this before and follow it to the point, except for I dont have the ck3 tool as im using the xbox to power it. I didnt download any drivers as im assuming its only for x360 usb tool

probe3 forces the drive to spew key over sata connection,
you STILL REQUIRE suitable sata,
sounds like you are trying to use onboard sata,
primary master , the lowest numbered on the motherboard is required, then
your sata may still not be suitable,
either a cheap via card or x360usbpro v1/v2 is your best option.

i am using on board sata and it is the master. i do have access to a newer desktop maybe that will help? my laptop also has esata could i get a sata to esata adapter and do it that way? i can order the x360 usb but i dont want to have to wait a week unless i have to :/

VIA 6421 is the reccomended sata port that needs to be used. I recently tried my trusty sata card on a 0164ds and the same problem, it wouldnt intro at all, luckly i found by plugging it into a sata to usb connector, then hotswapping to the sata pci card it would intro straight away even without power of the drive (i have ck3 mini). The hotswap method wasnt my idea, but all credits to the founder.

you would be better off with an x360usb, it is worth the investment for hassle free flashing

jimlfixit I cant thank you enough all week ive been trying wondering if i was doing something wrong and all i needed was the via chip. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I don't know why it didn't work with my mobo but im glad i got it.
