I have a DG-16D2S 02510C (I think) The date on it is July 2009. It did not tell me to eject the tray half way when I plugged it in as I remember so I'm assuming it is a v2 02510C. I did have the key until I had to reload windows and I lost all my files and I did not have a chance to backup anything because I was in a rush. As I remember there was no flash on it because after I erased it I did not have the firmware to update and flash it (to be used as a replacement drive) I do have the other firmware waiting for another liteon I have. Is there anything else that could have happened to the drive because of me doing this? I use JungleFlasher and I have a ck3i and a x360usb pro. When I plug in the drive it is never detected and when I do the liteon erase command it gets the 0x80 status every time, I have browsed forums and I tried everything that people have suggested and none of it worked. Is there any way to get it to be detected even though I do not have the key? Also, if I flash this drive with another liteon's firmware will it work like normal? For more details, I updated my x360usb pro to .18 and the version of JF I'm using is 0.1.92 Beta. Will I need to get any replacement parts? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

If you have lost the key and have erased the drive then there is mot a lot you can do with the drives. You will have to recover your key by rgh. What dashboard is the console on and is it a hdmi version.

the drive isnt bricked unless you plugged it in backwards,a simple intro and power cycle should bring valid device properties to be able to flash fw to the chip.however,without your key for your xbox,no the drive will not work as normal,if the box is on dash 14719 or under and has hdmi,we could get the key via reset glitch hack.if its over those dashes,or xenon and over 14699,then we cannot currently get the key from motherboard via rgh,were waiting for a new hack for this now.
Ironically the console I was using was a 9199 jasper and the console is now dead because of a failed rgh attempt and i am not in possession of this console anymore. Should I get a new pcb? And I think I tried to power cycle and an intro but i will do it again in a couple hours, ive tried the liteon erase and everything but no luck. I have the flash of another liteon I could use if that would work if I got the drive to work?

the fw from another drive is of no use to you,you need the fw that was on the drive that came from the box your trying to fix.the fw itself is of little use,because you need the unique key that comes on each drive/console in order for it to read games.

OP - I would recommend reading up on the relationship between an Xbox DVD drive and the console as it appears you have some massive gaps in your understanding.
Have been playing with lite-on 02510c that was stuck in 0x80 today (bad flash - wouldn't eject). it wouldn't intro at all. Eventualy got it to intro with this method:
-while probing mpx01 hit liteon erase
-then it sent intro to the drive and came back with 0x72 status and drive recognized (as soon as it showed 0x72 stop probing)
i didn't see this method anywhere on the net so can't say if it will work every time or if it can damage drive even more, but it worked for me. This is how i have done it to recover drive from bad flash and has nothing to do with recovering dvd keys etc.

You can just send a lite-on erase to a badly flashed DG-16D2S to get it back to vendor mode. Never had to open one yet.

if your lucky then the key maybe saved in the JF database.
on the firmware tool 32 tab in JF click on 'opend keydb' the key u need maybe in there!!

He wont need the DVD key anyway because he said the Drive is from a dead Jasper.
So just hit liton erase and follow the steps in JF tut to get in into Vendor mode
