Hi,
I have been modding xbox 360's for a few yrs now with no dramas thanks to all the TX tools :cool2:

However i have finally come across my first DG-16D4S

I do not intend on modding/flashing the original pcb as i would like to keep it stock for dashboard updates etc.

I have the drive key and backed up the dummy.bin from
the original drive and bought a stock 0272 pcb on eBay to have a basic attempt @ the Kamikaze mod

I hooked up the new pcb read the key etc and backed it up (i dont know why lol). Got it in vendor and went to unlock the SPI however i went too far and got 0xFF status.

I don't care that i messed up as i have ordered a TX replacement PCB but in the meantime i figured i'd have a go at replacing the Damaged Chip on the PCB.

I followed this guide:
http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67283

(LOL @ page 9)

And managed to lift the chip but thought i'd post a pic or two just to see what you guys think, is it worth soldering on a new chip to this pcb or should i donate
it to someone who can make better use of it?

Thanks in advance
RaKS

P.S Sorry for poor lighting on pics, i can post better ones if needed.

pads look ok and dont look like any of them have lifted, clean it up a bit and remove excess solder and your be good to go. removing the chip is the easy bit , replacing it is the tricky part and will need a steady hand and good soldering skills. if you feel confident then go for it, you can only mess it up at the worse and wont be no loss apart from the price of the chips seeming as you already got a replacement...
