LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM DG-16D4S on .13599 Question?

I currently have a Lite On DG-16D4S on .13599 and have extracted the key from it via Jungleflasher.

I'm just a little confused as to my option in relation to writing to the drive.

According to JF the firmware on the drive is 0727. Can I now write to this drive or do I need a new PCB?

the drive is locked you will need to either unlock the drive via kamikaze or sputnik or better still a TX replacement pcb to be able to write the firmware but make sure you make a full dump of the drive

Confirm FW, it should be 0272.

You need to unlock the drive first before being able to write to it. Either MXIC (Sputnik Probe/Switch) or Kamakazi Hack (Drilling hole).

Yes, it's on 0272

Intro the drive, once in vendor more it will show in the log what the SPI status is. Also a little "button" will show up on JF.

Nearly impossible it will be anything but locked with 13599

are you sure that your drive is locked on 13599 ? usally it's locked on 13604 after the drive fw has changed to 0272.

it got relflashed on 13146 and locked on 13599. c4eva says it's safe to update slim liteons with spi locked with custom fw (no need to revert to stock) as think MS cannot unlock these either once locked via dash update.
