You don't have to remove the x clamp in order to solder that point for the DGX. Just get a good light so you can see the point, tin the wire, add flux to the end of it and just solder under the x clamp. Not too hard.

Why are people still so afraid of removing xclamps? Ifs understandable that many people have damaged their boards in the process. I myself have never did any damage, even with a screwdriver, but the tx unlock tool makes its so easy. Or is because of the extra 30 seconds of work that that goes into the job?

Why remove the x clamp when soldering under it is easier than removing it? I personally don't have the removal tool which makes it a real pain.

Not saying or implying to the OP that the xclamps need removed.. just curious why people are so against it. And i dont have the tool either, i unclamp them with a small flat headed screw driver, takes 15 seconds.

OP, you can do it without removal of the clamp, i prefer to take them off to give myself room to work.

I totally agree with you, it's no big deal to remove the clamp. People with poor soldering skills will screw it up not removing the clamp in my opinion.
