I reballed several Falcons, but E74 or RROD 0110 usually come back in several months. Now I want to try new GPUs. If they are pre-balled with lead-free solder I will re-ball them, this is not a problem.
nothing out there is new man, they are all just preballed gpu that have been pulled from units.ive found almost every supplier ive used for gpu hit or miss tbh,i just get me 5 gpu preballed to start out with, then set the 5 i see next to side and reball em myself on slower days.

You can't buy them new. They're all system pulls.

Look over them with a microscope and you'll see remains of thermal paste between the components around the dies.

I asked the seller whether the GPUs are new or pulled from the systems and got the answer "Friend, not 100% new chip" :)
I suspect that $7 chips are not even pre-balled. But I placed the order anyway, will see...

oh they will almost certainly be balled already, now if they work or not is the question, you might get lucky and get 1 or 2 workin ones out of 5 lol, usually anyway.

Another thing to keep in mind is if they had E74 before or not, these cheap ones have a tendency to get that after just a few days of use and we all know ehat that means.

Eugene, have you already got these chips? Do you think they will be delivered? Seven bucks for a GPU (pulled from a system) seems way too cheap to be real, or am I wrong?

I'm sure they will be delivered. But I'm not excited about it, as my previous experience tells me that RROD 0110 / E74 (typical for Falcons) usually comes back sooner or later no matter whether you re-ball your current GPU or buy refurbished pre-balled one on ebay. That's why my question was whether it's possible to buy brand new GPU.
