LITEON 74850 Did I brick my liteon?

Just got a lite on phat from a friend and after spending about 45 minutes trying to get a key off of the drive the frustration must have got to me and I accidently touched something near by with the probe. I touched it long enough for it to make a burning smell. The drive continued to show up in jungle flasher and no yield me any keys for a while. I then decided to rest it for a while and come back. When I come back its as if the drive is totally dead it will not open or anything, the mb does heat up tho when it is plugged in. Is there anything I can do? Even if it's just to get the key i'll be happy.

If the board is still functional, you can erase the pcb completely to get it re-flashed and working again. Sounds like you won't be getting your key from it anymore though. You'll need RGH to grab your key

Yeah it is, but there is a chance you killed your pcb. In both cases you will still need to rgh hack the console to recover the key. Nofelonies is pretty much offering to fix it all up free lol, i'd go that route

If he fried the board wouldn't you need the whole box to get key as its no longer acquire able from the drive pcb

well,i did tell him that if for whatever reason i couldnt get from drive i could rgh for info.got board though and usually itll just be resistors or voltage regs that take the zap,and rest of its still fine.in his case though he fried the mt chip.even smelled burned.soooo rgh it is.

Yeah I kinda figured didn't realize the post was that old that you would of received the board already. I always ask for the whole box when I do any repairs saves shipping in the long run and makes my life easier lol
