Well, im soon to get all the things i need to solder my xbox, and my ps2, the ps2 isnt really fitting in this forum but i thought id just mention it, lol

Im getting a solderpen, 15W

a think to clean it, or i mean.. remove the solder after each uhm.. solder? :p

i need some solder too, not sure what to get, but it should ofcourse be to things compatible with eletrical stuff right.. as the categorize it like that and such, so im to get unleaded solder, lead free solder.. ?

argh its hard to write certain words in english, im a swede so im trying to write it as good as i can..

I was also thinking as i read that its good to get uhm, like.. uhm, whats it called...eletrical tape over the places u solder? something like that..

so anything i missed? or anything else thats good to have or something u wish to comment, tip me.. anything, i dont wanna miss anything when i solder in my chip =)

thanks for any answer..

for a non-native english speaker, you type better than 90% of the idiots on the internet. anyway, yeah, you're alright. you really don't need the electical tape over the solder though, but you might wanna tape down wires with it.

oh and i can type more correct english.. as in grammar and all, but im ont in school so.. hehe, and aslong as people understand what im typing so is it ok in my view ^_^

Far from here!
Yep, so if this is your first time soldering just make sure you take your time. Also get some vey thin solder like .022 dia. Thats what I use and it works great. Should be fine! Good luck!

Few tips to help you.....

Get a fiberglass pen to clean your solder points before you start. This will help the solder to flow. Also get pre-fluxed solder and if you really want to make life easier, get some flux paste as well... These all help the solder to flow nicely.

As junkman22 said, get some .022 guage if you can and also make sure the tip on your soldering iron is a really fine one (not a cheapo thick one).

Tin your wires before soldering them....This means coaing the exposed end of the wire with solder before you fit them (they come tinned but a little extra really helps...Especially on the D0 wire). Also, especially on the D0 wire, make sure the exposed bit of the wire is no more than 3mm as you may risk it touching an adjacent solder point when you tape the wires down (look at the pics of the 1.0 to 1.5 installation guide and you will see how NOT to do it.. Far too long).

Make sure you "wet" the tip of the iron before each solder joint (this means putting a little solder on the tip of the iron).

Finally (Again especially on the D0 solder point) you should not be holding the soldering iron on the solder point for more than about 1/2 a second. This is a major cause of people lifting the solder points from the mobo.

Finally, finally. Read Read & read again these forums and TAKE YOUR TIME!

Sorry for the long post and some of the "Egg Sucking" info for some readers...

Good luck my friend.

Re: Need Your Help Guys Asap

you cannot spoof LT+

if the xbox is JTAGable, you can change the drive type of the box

that is probably not possible though

Samsungs and Hitachis often don't need LT+
