I just got a X3 and Xapt3r and was about to install it when I realized I had a 1.0 and needed to desolder the holes. No problem, I thought, and i got some desoldering braid and a 15 watt iron. This was pretty much my first time ever holding a soldering iron, but it went pretty well. Pieces of the braid got stuck and I had to rip it off once or twice since I held it too long, and little pieces of it got stuck to the board, but only a few strands. I figured it was okay, and I didn't really scratch stuff up or anything. I put in the Xapt3r, lights worked fine, put in the mod chip, that worked fine too, put in the switch, everythign lit up. I put it all back together and got sort of a FRAG - it shut off x2, then blinked orange, no green. I figured I misaligned something, so I realigned stuff... nothing. Finally I decided just to take the Xapt3r and X3 out of the Xbox and reconnect everything the way it was before - same problem. My question then, is did I somehow destroy something in my desoldering process? I didn't flail around and solder all over the board; in fact the iron never left that little LPC area. Any ideas?
