I have ran into I guess a minor problem it appears but I dont know if I can bypass it or not. I have modded the firmware on my xbox360 months ago, im just now updating to the new hitachi iXtreme 1.2, my issue is... When I did this firmware mod I was running windows XP backed up my firmware and also upgraded it to maxius something where it was working fine and still is.

Well im now on the same PC but running Windows Vista, I transfered all my XP files over with it in the terms of apps and files. I still have the xbox360 backup firmware. Im now trying to restore it back to orginal state using the iXtreme 1.2, my xbox360 went into ModeB fine. Right now it seems the drive is being detected. I go to my computer and see drive E, load a game in and it changes as if its reading the disc I put in. Well when I did this on XP it came up as Drive J. Right now though it wont let me restore what so ever or even flash. I have tryed iXtreme 1.2 and the last firmware I used when I first did this. I click the restore bat file and the cmd prompt starts then shuts down. I wont stay running what so ever no matter what I do. Is this because the drive isnt being detected? Its in modeB for sure, and from looks of it I think the PC is detecting the drive perfectly fine.

I dont know if the problem is Vista, or what? I can always take this to my other XP PC but Im going to have to go through the trouble of moving files over to that PC to do this. anyhow any suggestion please to get this running

i would do what you stated at the end...... move the files to the xp computer. i think it'll be less hassle. i would def guess that vista is what's giving you BS. at least you know it'll work on the xp comp unless it has an incompatible sata chipset. i'm no expert but i would stick with XP to do all my xbox backups/flashes. you could also dual boot your computer with XP but you'll have to reinstall vista. heard it was a pain to install XP when vista is already installed. i'm enjoying my XP/vista dual boot.
