I'm making a 12 Digit security pad like in "The Transporter" (in his Black BMW 735).

I'll post photos when done. I bought a 12-pad numeric switch from Maplins, but to make a connection, you just press any one or two buttons.
So I have made my own replacement circuit board so that you have to press a combination of buttons, then press the power/eject buton at the same time in order to boot up the XBOX. And there's also a switch very similar to the one on the X3 control panel attached to this pad so that you have to have it set to eg: ON, ON, OFF, ON ,OFF, OFF or something like that as well. Anyone else wants to use my XBOX...fat chance lol. Only I know the combinations.

Oh and then there's my X3 password too lol.:D

If anyone wants one after I have posted the photos let me know, I will put one on ebay for you. I can make them with custom button combinations to suit you.

Just finished the digit pad, ready to wire up to the power and eject switches. One question, If I break one connection on both the power switch, and connect the broken connection to a switch, when this new switch is set to OFF, the power button will not work untill the new switch i set to ON, right? I mean, will this work or do you need to break a specific connector of the four that are on the power switch. See diagram attached.

I want it so that the power button won't work unless the additional switch that I add is set to ON.

What responses, cool. I finished wiring it up and fitting it today. It's a bit like the X3CP, it looks like part of the XBOX, the plastic is the same texture and shade of black. I'll post a photo later, I would post one now, but my Mom's taken the camera.

My ebay username is armacleod. I will make some soon if you guys want one. But in a week or so 'cos I've got a bit of college work to do, a MK Scorpion XBOX, and my mate's paying me to light up his 'box in blue. It's gonna be a busy week for me :D.

These things are quite risky to make yourself 'cos u have to make a circuit board, the metal has to be in exactly the right places with a 12mm gap in between each connector.

How this lock works is that you cut off the power and eject switches from the front panel, then wire them to this digit pad with your replacement homemade circuit board. Then, the only way you can boot up your 'box is to hold 3 digits of your choice down to make a connection from the power and eject switches to the front panel, then press the corresponding switch fror that 3 digit code (power or eject).

Only a specific 3 digits will work for each switch 9power and eject), if you try ANY combination it won't boot up, it has to be the three that the circuit board is made to use. You can choose the 3 digit codes if you want tme to make and sell you one. There is one for the power button, and one for the eject button. They take a bit of practice to learn how to use too, and sometimes take a few presses to get right, but it's a great thing to have, especially if you haven't got the x3 bios with a password.

You need to mount your power and eject switches somewhere new 'cos the wires to them mean that they don't fit in the holes in the back of the grey buttons. But this means added security, anyone who doesn't know will think that you need to press the standard power button lol.

This lock takes some skill and time to make, aswell as understanding of exactly how it works and how to make it.

This long description can be confusing, so check this post tomorrow and the photos should be here, I'll label them too so you understand how this cool device works better.

Any questions, feel free to ask me. :)

If you have an X3 and want to play xboxlive, you will need to fit an additional switch to disable the chip, with this lock that I made, you can only boot the XBOX with the chip enabled.

If you have a chip that has a disable/enable switch (unlike the X3 which uses the power switch), then it will be fine.

PLEASE DO NOT HIJACK THIS POST WITH XBOX LIVE QUESTIONS, GO TO THE CORRECT FORUM! (JUST INCASE ANYONE WAS THINKING OF POSTING DUMB XBOXLIVE QUESTIONS IN THIS THREAD.)

Paranoia is a wonderful thing ... what ever happened to "press the on button and be ready to play?"

I've seen this done on PCs before, but a first for an Xbox. I can't understand why you would want to though ...

I did it just 'cos I liked the one the Transporter has in his modded Black 1999 BMW 735. But some people want privacy for their 'box and if they can't have the X3 bios for whatever reason (lower than X3 chip, 1.6/b xbox) then this is what they need. Even if you have an X3 with X3 bios, people can still use your xbox with the X3 set to disable, so with this, they can't use it at all lol. And it's cool.

Here's a photo of it fitted to my XBOX.

Don't worry about the wires hanging out, they are nothing to do with this digit-pad device, they are just led + and - that I havent soldered to the hdd power cable yet.
