Dirty or Damaged Disk Messages

Does anyone know reasons why sometimes I get the Error with disk may be dirty or damaged. Is it because of a bad rip/burn or is there a way to know? i've only just recently seen this happen on 2 games. Also i was wondering if there are any games that need to be patched before you can play?

you should read the problems with KOTOR II most likely a bad rip or burn try it again and clean the disc try again

well whatever drive i do have.. I have not had that problem with KOTORII and above and beyond that for some reason my drive likes to read the colored (orange) memorex CD-R disks... i have burned 6 games on them and they have all read... well not marvel vs capcom 2 but i think i have a bad copy or doing something else wrong because i've used 5 different disks all of which work otherwise. and actually it was NFL Street 2 (on two different occasions) and TMNT2 (one occasion).

its either a bad disk or your drive is going out. how does it read the originals?

it reads originals fine... I have yet to have a problem with originals... It will recognize and let me rip... its just when trying to play... thats why i thought it might be a patch thing.

try the date and clock settings.

ok now that would make sense however i cannot boot into my original dash. i get an error message that says that my box is broken and to take it to a repair shop or something. Someone told me that i need to make sure my HDD is locked and I believe that it is because when in evox it says my HDD is locked... is there a way to tell if it is or not????

it is error 21... if someone could point me to an article to maybe help fix thanks.

make sure your HD is locked and if that doesnt work use Slayers autoinstaller to rebuild the HD.

If you have an x3 installed you can lock your hd with it.

I used slayer's to both rebuild the M$ dash as well as make sure the HDD is locked.
and everything works fine now
