Disable DVD Drive

I have 1959 bios, xbox v 1.0 and my dvd drive is broken, this causes lag at the boot up, and other varios minor problems. I just want the drive disabled. I want to be directly on the hard drive. Is there an option on how to do this in X3?

LT on Ben-q

Quick question. I'm going to be modding a stock ben-q drive. Can I jump right on to the new LT firmwire or should I go to 1.61 and then to LT.
I dont know if jumping right on LT will brick it or something.

Go ahead and flash with LT you dnt have to flash to 1.61
