LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM Disc Update And Modded Drive

I'm went to play a new game and it wants to update my console. My drive is currently running the modded firmware.
Do I have to flash back to stock before applying an update to the console?

Its normally advised to flash back to stock firmware before any updates
