Hey guys, wow, new board looks bad ass! Any how, hope this is the right forum, if not please move it and let me know, thanks. I am having issues booting off media. I just installed the x3 a few days ago and I am trying to get the slayers auto-installer 2.6 to boot. I have tried everything with no luck. I have tried different media..(not dvd)and still nothing. I don't have access to a quality dvd burner so I haven't tried dvds. I was able to flash the bios no problem with CD-RW. I have also disabled the live config auto boot. Also the box wont boot games either? Could this be due to that fact that I am trying to use a new drive with no dash or anything?

if you install a new drive, it needs to be an xbox drive, regular PC drives won't work unless their seriously modded.

You can use a normal drive I just installed a 300gig seagate 2 days ago, I also used slayers disk, I had it on a dvd though, see if you can find someone with a dvd burner and make sure the hdd is set to master

Hmm..Master. I never heard this before..where did you get that from? You are saying change the hd to master, leave dvd as is all in xbox, and try to boot off of slayers..I will definately try it out tonight..can't hurt.

make sure the hdd is set to master[/QUOTE]
Your HDD should be set to cable select not master

The HDD jumper settings vary from model to model.

I just installed a Seagate Barracude which worked best set to Master, whereas others work on CS.

Anyone else having these issues? I just got a Pioneer 108, and some Ritek G04..hopefully this will resolve the issue.

Instead of burning more coasters... use ftp to install all of your applications instead of trying to use slayers if you can't get it to boot.
