Discs other than verbatim?

Hi,been buying verbs,but a lot of the time they are out of stock and they do cost a bit,so what alternatives can i buy that are cheaper and are as reliable,and where please?

Your best bet would be memorex. My hitachi reads them just fine :)

And i have heard that samsung read the almost anything. But the next best thing to verbatim is memorex.

I can't speak 100% for Bacon, but that's pretty much it. I use Memorex DLs, and they work great.

if you are going to use anything other than verbatim. Make your write speed no greater than 2x. I burn Verbatims at 4x and they all work. But with memorex i had to burn at 2x to get them to read.

samsung drive and i've burned verbatims and memorex at 2.4x no coasters so far

btw, i believe memorex = ritek, but i dont know if the actualbritek labeled discs are any good

i use a cheap matrix brand...never a coaster and have been using the same disc for 6 months...no problems with dyes or anything like that
