Disk Flag IMPORTANT!

Hey guys,

I burned a disk today and it had perfect PI

But there was a single bar in the middle of the disk which was PIF 5,

I installed the game to the drive and it booted up, It verified fine.

But I was wondering has my console been flagged?, as I thought that normal retail discs that have scratches on them can get fails?

Dont sweat it, as long as you ran the disc through agbx360 and it passed your all set

But has anyone received a flag from a too high PIF?

And can retail disks get the same fail?

Hi Tech,

Thanks for your input bud, but your doing the exact same thing you do on iextreme.

The post clearly states its NOT a good burn, ITS PIF IS 5.
So I could possibly get a flag. And apparently the check is done before the game is played.

Can someone with experience and proper know how give their 2 cents, ive done quite a bit of searching but the comments from people such as tech, make it very hard to get a decent answer.

Is it definite that I have a flag?

as far as i know, you will get a flag only if you topology data is not right, or if it is blank. i think its different to get a flag because ap2.5 than having a bad burn, i have got original games that are bad burned(dont work). i dont think that will flag an retail xbox.

to high PIF would simply cause the drive to struggle or completly hinder the drive in reading the disc (as if it was scratched) you shouldent be able to get banned for trying to play a scratched disc...?
a simple spike in pif might not be a problem at al, considering the drives ability to "error correct on the fly", but repeated spikes might cause it to fail.

in other words as long as the disc playes, the drive is managing the high PIF and you should be fine.

As long as you verify the topology data even if you put in a bad burn you most likely won't have anything happen to your account. After all, someone could put in a scratched disc that would fail to read just like a bad burn.

My friend gets unreadable disc errors all the time since the latest security update and he uses an original copy instead of a backup disc.

It installed fine and one spike in the center isn't gonna affect that much, probably in the layerbreak is fine. Its just one more than the expected/limit of a good burn[PIF=4]. Maybe that layerbreak spike usually occurs for PI but you said that it was perfect without that so there is a higher chance are that you won't be flagged.
