Distorted display

Hi all

I've done quite a few installs but haven't run into this problem before. The board was a 1.6 and I installed a 2.6CE into it.

Did the pin header install along with the LPC rebuild. The problem was that once the xbox booted up to the flashbios screen, the display on the screen would start off fine but would then become pixelated and becoming more pixelated the longer the xbox was on. The same thing happened using both banks on the chip which were flashbios 3.01 and 3.03. I even tried swapping the chip with another 2.6CE and the same problem occured. Even though the screen was pixelated I was still able to recall what was on the flashbios menu and proceed with flashing the chip over the network. This seems to have fixed the issue so far. But does anyone have any ideas why this could have happened?

Cheers

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I am not using a HDTV cable. Im using the original AV cable which comes with the Xbox. ie - the cable that has red white and yellow phonos on it.

What I can't understand is why the flashbios 3.01 and 3.03 gave a distorted display until I flashed it???

I have now flashed the chip with the X2 5035 on bank 1 and 3.03 on bank 2. The new flashbios 3.03 I have flashed onto bank 2 doesn't seem to have the distorted problem, so I assume the flashbios originally on the chip was somehow corrupted???

That's odd. I doubt the bios was bad or you wouldn't have been able to boot the chip at all. I guess the good news is you don't have the problem anymore, so you are all set.
