Hi,
At the risk of being flamed here, I admit I'm a bit of a noob on the 360 modding scene but in my defence I did mod my XBOX1 a few years ago and have spent the past 3/4 months reading every tut or forum on the Firmware, NAND and JTAG mods' - but as a result of that I've got conflicting info on what updates are included on 360 Games :

I was given a dead 360 by a friend and I've successfully fixed the RROD and then upgraded the firmware on the Hitachi-47 drive to LT+ V1.1. At some later date I plan to NAND/JTAG my 360 but as I didn't get a hard disk with the machine I'm in no hurry just yet (I want to do this to run games from the HDD).

So, I've now got a number of games backed up but so far each of them insists on an update which I'm wary of accepting in case it affects my dash version (and hence prevents me JTAGing). Am I right in thinking this. I've heard that Game updates are ok, but then in another forum I read that some games update the dash and if I've got freeboot xxx with dash 9199 it won't ask.

So, how do I know if the game includes only game updates or system updates? I'm on dash 2.0.6683.0 no idea what CB yet but as this machine is so old I'm pretty confident..

Sorry for the long winded question. thanks for taking the time to read it anyhow !!

yes you are correct, don't update, it'll be a no go for jtag otherwise.

You don't need a m$ hd for jtag, use an external one and a 16 gig partition for the time being (or perminent if you like)
